What are Lions?
First let me
tell you what we are not. We are not a fraternal organization or
affiliated with any political party or religious denomination.
What Lions are.
Lion's are
volunteers and Members of the Largest Volunteer Service Organization
in the World who are striving to eliminate preventable blindness in
our lifetime. Towards this goal, we support Diabetes Awareness and
prevention, vision screening for glaucoma, macular degeneration and
other common vision problems. We also support Community youth and
elderly activities and strive to make our Community a better place
to live.
What is demanded
of a Lion?
All Lions give of
themselves and their time as they can. No Lion is asked to give more
or serve more than they or their family will allows.
Where the Money
goes.
All money raised
by donations & contributions from the public MUST be directed to the
Community or the programs listed above. AT NO TIME may any of this
money be used to support the club or any Lions.
How do we raise
our money.
Clubs raise money
from the Community by hosting various fundraisers. Each Club
decides what fundraiser will work best within their Community.
Who can become a
Lion.
Anyone who has a
desire to make a difference in the lives of those who must endure
vision problems, suffer from Diabetes or the members of the
community the Lions club serves. This person is asked to attend at
least 2 meetings a month and or participate in club sponsored events
whenever they can. |
